Hello Eagles! My name is Racquel Sessa and I am the proud principal at New Caney Elementary. This is my seventeenth year in education and my eighth year in New Caney ISD. My goal is to build positive relationships with our students, families, and staff as well as academic excellence. Our campus values are being positive, being respectful, showing integrity, being determined, and being encouraging. We teach our students to show their PRIDE at all times. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year and hope to see you around campus! 

Hello, my name is Sybil Ibarra, and I am proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at New Caney Elementary. I joined the New Caney ISD team 9 years ago. I have served as an elementary school teacher, EL Instructional Coach, and EL Instructional Specialist. I received my master's degree from the University of St. Thomas.
I am honored to serve the New Caney Elementary community and look forward to working with a fantastic group of educators.

Hello Eagles, my name is Claudia Rex and I am honored and privileged to be serving on the administration team here at New Caney Elementary. My role on campus is to not only support quality instruction but also to mentor both teachers and students to be the best versions of themselves.  

This is my 10th year in education. I have served in our district in various roles ranging from a classroom teacher, Emergent Bilingual Instructional Coach,  Math Instructional Coach, Canvas Curriculum Writer, and now Assistant Principal. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Bilingual Education (Go Coogs!!), and Sam Houston State University with a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration (Go Kats!!!).  

I celebrated 21 years of marriage to my awesome husband Willy.  He is my best friend and encourager.  We have a daughter, Naomi, who is a Freshman at New Caney High School and has a passion for Softball. We enjoy getting to travel and watch her play softball. We love going to church, spending time with family and friends, and helping lead our church youth group.

As an Assistant Principal, I intend to use my pre-existing skills in curriculum and instruction, classroom management, and relationship building to serve my campus and community. My ultimate goal is to provide a safe learning culture and community for all staff members and students, so they feel free to take risks with the purpose of learning at grade level or higher.
